The BIG hike October 24th to celebrate the Mountain-To-Sea Trail


Hike the new MST route through New Bern on October 24, 2009. Let's celebrate this great trail resource. See details below:

Where: Meet at 8:30am at Union Point Park, downtown New Bern, NC
Difficulty: Moderate -- we will hike from downtown New Bern to the lake (shuttle back to downtown will be provided).
What to bring: water, high energy snacks, great attitude, raingear, good walking shoes, sunscreen

Compete for Concrete Disc Golf Tourny


New Bern has a great disc golf course but it needs one major improvement... concrete tee pads. On October 10th and November 14th you can help. Compete for Concrete is a fundraiser tournament with a 9am registration and 9:30 tee off. Don't be late. Plenty of great prizes and discount coupons from One World Shoppe for ALL participants!

Celebrating 300 years in Beaufort, NC


Once again the staff put together a great looking parade float and celebrated the town of Beaufort, NC as a great seaside village for the past 300 years. October is Mountains-to-Sea Trail Month in NC

Governor Bev Purdue has recognized October as the Mountains-to-Sea trail month in NC. We are proud of our trail project which stretches across the state from the mountains to the Atlantic Ocean.

We’re finalizing plans for a beautiful new route for the MST through New Bern, and this is your chance to get an early preview. We’ll start this hike at Union Point Park on the Neuse and Trent rivers in downtown New Bern. Then we’ll head east through downtown, past Tryon Palace and the historic New Bern Cemetery and then out to the city’s lake on the Neuse River. From the lake, we will hike to Glenburnie Park for shuttles that will bring you back to your car at Union Point Park.

Limited to 20 hikers.

Disc + Course + golf = DISC GOLF Tuesday Tournaments in New Bern, NC


New Bern Disc Golf Tuesday Tournaments are taking place this summer at Genburnie Park. Registration is each Tuesday @ 5:30 pm at New Bern's Glenburnie Park, hole #1, and tee-off is 5:45 pm. There is a $2 entry fee. This is a random draw Double's Tournament. Standard disc golf rules apply.
