Americans love weddings so why not love a Royal Wedding!
Why are Americans obsessed with weddings? Platinum weddings, redneck weddings, saying Yes to a Dress... what's the deal. Possibly there is something deep inside all of us that needs to be reminded about hope, celebration, affirmation, and all things good. There are very few cultural celebrations that transcend history, culture differences, national borders than a good, over-the-top wedding. Weddings remind us to stop with the anxiety, the ego, take a breath and let hope surface within. So as goofy as it sounds, let the world celebrate one royal wedding that we really have no emotional connection with, other than curiosity. Have fun, have a party, wear a cool hat. Be part of a World family and let's all celebrate.

40th ANNIVERSARY OF THE NEUSIOK TRAIL. Hiking the Neusiok. Photo by Becka Walling.
This is the 40th anniversary of the 22-mile Neusiok Trail in the Croatan National Forest near New Bern and Havelock.
The trail was designed and built by the Carteret County Wildlife Club and is the longest continuous trail in North Carolina's coastal plain. It was designated as part of the MST in 1990, and it is one of the highlights of the entire 1000-mile journey. Hikers experience the beauty and diversity of this special part of North Carolina: sand ridges, bottomlands, pine savannas, pocosins and sandy beaches. The trail also features two camping shelters.
There is a long history of Native Americans utilizing this trail as a trade route. Lets keep the tradition going. Get involved with the Friends of the Mountain-to-Sea trail.
A good pair of walking shoes, comfortable clothing, a daypack and bug juice is all you need to enjoy a day on the trail.
